Haven’t tried a call yet. So apparently this is what fixed it. Connecting it directly to the usb cord that comes from the head unit works. I had mine hooked to the Metra AXXESS which gave me my two center console usbs back but for some reason didn’t allow CarPlay to come through even though charging worked.Then you can keep the HU and all the functions, while getting a killer system with subwoofer. Should cost a bit over $1000 including installation. Current rides: 2018 Mazda Mx5 in Machine Gray, 2014 Fiat 500L.
