Honestly I think the two strongest options are Magus/Fighter and Magus/Witch for dual class. Magus fighter gives you a higher chance to crit with spellstrike and that will always be crazy. This is my build, I'm playing as a tank magus right now! I'm using Bastion free archetype with Orc anchestry, to comensate magus low health. Inexorable iron is a 2 wielding weapon study. This class grant a lot of temporary hit points and things like that. The sparkling targe is a shield tank that can block magic.So, to summarize: 8 levels of Magus (probably with the Myrmidarch archetype). If you still really want to play an Arcane Archer, take two levels of it to get Imbue Arrow, then consider going back to Magus.
